IMPORTANCE OF FUNCTIONAL MAGNETIC STIMULATION
The Tesla Care device was developed for treating weakened pelvic floor muscles and urinary incontinence by using the special Functional Magnetic Stimulation (FMS) technology. COURSE OF TREATMENT
URINARY INCONTINENCE WILL NO LONGER BE AN ISSUE
Involuntary, uncontrolled urination or urinary incontinence appears when sphincters, muscles of the pelvic floor and the bladder muscles do not function correctly or synchronously, because they are either too weak or overly active. This common and unpleasant problem affects people of both sexes and all ages.
In young women, the most common type of incontinence is stress incontinence. Urine leaks through an otherwise undamaged urethra. The main cause is the reduced function of the muscles of the pelvic floor, causing, in turn, a weakened closing mechanism of the urinary bladder.
Older women more often have a problem with urge incontinence, where urine leaks after an urgent need to urinate as the consequence of an overly active urinary bladder. The patients need to use the toilet more than eight times a day, the need to urinate even makes them get up two or more times a night.
Especially many older female patients face a combination of stress and urge incontinence, named mixed urinary incontinence. Strengthening and speedier regeneration of the pelvic floor muscles through functional magnetic stimulation is a replacement or enhancement to the better-known electrical stimulation for incontinence treatment. Using excorporal magnetic stimulation noticeably strengthens up the pelvic floor muscles within the first three or four weeks of treatment, without the unpleasant insertion of electrodes.Treatment is performed two or three times a week for 20 minutes per session and a total of 16 treatments. Since there is no direct skin contact, there is no pain, unpleasantness or any known side effects.
In June 1998, even the strict American FDA approved functional magnetic stimulation as a method of conservative treatment for urinary incontinence.
The graph below shows the results of therapy using functional magnetic stimulation after 16 treatment sessions. The results were collected in three independent centers with 160 female patients.
36 women were treated for urge urinary incontinence (UUI), 42 women were treated for mixed urinary incontinence (MUI), 61 women were treated for stress urinary incontinence (SUI) and 21 women were treated for urinary incontinence after childbirth.
